Being an Entrepreneur has got nothing to do with age.

A serious age race is on in today’s start-up world where individuals who start early are considered more successful than those who start late. But isn’t age just a number and as Mark Twain has put it, “Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”Has it got any major impact on one’s entrepreneurial journey and success?

Coming to an early entrepreneur and a late entrepreneur. Ankit Singh, who started his company at the age of 22, likened entrepreneurship to a marathon and not a sprint. He is the founder of Truckmandi. The idea is to platform where they connect vehicle owners or transporters directly to business or customers who are in need of their services. This innovation to a large extent was able to bridge the gap that existed between the customers and the service providers by bringing about an order in the transport sector.

There are almost 50 Lakh drivers in India and almost 1 Lakh vehicles touching Delhi NCR. The truck operators operate only with 40 percent of the installed capacity, the major reasons being lack of transparency and loyalty. This is where Truckmandi comes in and promises to make avail such provisions through their platform.

Col. Sanders did not start out as anyone’s idea of a successful businessman. He was fired from multiple jobs, even losing his job as a lawyer after a courtroom brawl he was determined to never give up, and this trait led to his eventual success.

While working at a service station in Sanders gained local popularity for his delicious chicken recipe. After the Corbin station was destroyed by a fire, Sanders had the location rebuilt as a motel and 140-seat restaurant. In 1952, at the age of 62, Sanders franchised his “Kentucky Fried Chicken” for the first time. Today, KFC has over 18,800 outlets in 118 different countries and territories.

So in this era of entrepreneurship and innovation let no one tell you that age defines when and how you should proposition your business idea, after all, age is just merely a number.
